A Hazy 3rd Birthday to me

May 13, 2007

Yes – believe it or not – I actually made these biscuits. We had to throw them away in the end as they were truely disgusting. They were purchased as ‘Dinosaur Cookies’ Kit no artificial flavouring or colours! Yipee I thought – perfect except we (I) put too much water in the so they became random blobs as the dinosaur cutter wouldn’t work and it all got a bit messy. On the plate you will see I managed to make a robin (bottom left) and an E – (sort of two o’ clockish), and a sort of pretend stegosauros (pure fluke I tell you) at the very bottom of the plate. They tasted of water, grass and polyfilla all mixed up and then baked for too long. The main ingredient I noticed was chlorophyll – hence the weird grass taste. We both just bit into them, spat them out onto the floor (as 5 and 40 yr olds are wont to do when they don’t like something) and just laughed and laughed. And then I put them in the bin. Hope you like looking at them.

Anyway – it’s A Hazy Day Today’s official 3rd birthday. Thank you to all my loyal and beautifully lovely and clever and charming and supportive and downright gorgeously special readers. Feel free to peruse the archives – I was going to link to the best, the worst, the bad and the ugly but I just can’t be bothered – sorry. And if you can’t be bothered to do that then you can listen to the entire backlog of Listen With Rockmother here.

Here’s a free rock t-shirt picture for the forthcoming calendar (as sponsored by Toilet Duck and Benylin4Flu mixture – for those dull days when nothing else matters…)

Savannah – yes – the biscuits were absolutely reeeevolting. I think you need to download some Listen With Rockmother my love. Um.yes, you can surely have a calendar when I’ve finished it….I need some more t-shirts first!

Her Firstness – Happy Mother’s Day to you too on the US/Canada border and Happy Rockmother’s day here. I KNOW – CHLO-RO-PHYLL! Is that normal? I don’t think so….I’m three in blogyears which is one in hamster years and 10% of my life so far (no,no, I’m not lying – honest) xx

Ister – I’ve saved a biscuit for you but it’s a bit soggy as I found it with a teabag ontop. Yes – you’ve won the prize! Um, glad you like the collection. Am working on the calendar but I’ve just realised – you are disqualified as you can’t spell calendar correctly. You’ll just have to wait for the signed colander to arrive in the post xx

RM, I approve greatly of the increase in boob photos of late.

And, on that subject, do I get a calendar by pedantically pointing out that The Soup Dragons only covered the I’m Free song and it’s actually by the Stones (it’s on Out Of Our Heads)?

Grass biscuits. But the wrong sort of grass. The right sort are hash brownies.

And to think dinosaurs once ruled the earth.

Happy b’day, Romo!

Many happy returns to Hazy Day. I’ll bring my own biscuits when I come here, though, if you don’t mind!x Today I quite fancy a McVitie’s Digestive biscuit with a shmear of Nutella…

  13. Looks like Play-Doh to me. Kids all OK? Have you done a recount?

  14. Betty permalink

… sorry. There was an extra ? in there somewhere.

  15. Betty permalink

Happy birthday! Sorry, I’m off biscuits at the moment, even mushy dinosaur ones (trying to lose a few pounds).

Why not take a picture of yourself wearing a "Val Doonican Rocking Chair Rocks World Tour, 1969"? tee shirt?

Savannah – glad you like the James Brown – it’s one of my favourite albums and not one that’s is referenced very much. I might have to borrow a few of your t-shirts at this rate! Serves me right for spur of the moment blogging. I don’t know what possessed me I really don’t!

Jimmy’s Troosers – glad to oblige – everyone can have a calendar how’s that? Apart from Ister of course as he can’t spell it so he gets a colander.

Lovely Llewtrah – I’ve had such a rubbish day – I could sink a hashcake right now! Twould send me dullaly though – don’t do things like that anymore…

Geoffster – many thanks old bean!

Arabella – I would if I were you – and do let me know when you are coming over won’t you and I can buy some nice proper biscuits rather than attempt to make any! x

Dickley – yes – all fine apart from green tongue! Clashes with the flaming red hair somewhat.

Bettster – good idea – you’ve got me thinking now. x

Happy Blogday dear RoMo! (bit late, soz.) Long may you and your podcasts reign…

  18. Annie permalink

PS: let me know when you are up for Punk at the Barbican – I am on halfterm from 26th but then probably so are you!

  19. rockmother permalink

Darling Annie – cheers love! I wish I could do a podcast now – in fact I wish that was just my job fullstop. Re: exhibition – yes – and there’s a couple at the Photographers Gallery too I wouldn’t mind catching. I will be spending half term working (call the social services foster care dept!) which is horrible but unavoidable. I’ll call using telephonic equipment to arrange xx

  20. Istvanski permalink

She’s bluffing on the calendar front folks. I’ve not even got that colander yet. I was hoping to add it to my hat collection.

  21. rockmother permalink

Ister – it’s not just any old colander I’d have you know! I’ve been searching pound shops far and wide.

  22. Howesy permalink

What’s that sound I here from TDHB kitchen? Could it be our visitor Istvanski straining his plums in his new colander/calondier/coloniser?
By the way, we approve whole heartedly of the new T-shirt pic and demand that it becomes your new munterspace avatar!
Oh, and many happy returns.

  23. rockmother permalink

Howeser – by special request my munterspace avatar is changed to ‘Blondie’ for 24 hours only then I will remove it – the avatar I mean!

  24. rivergirlie permalink

i’m guessing this is dinousaurs in the throes of extintion

  25. rockmother permalink

Rivergirlie – I was thinking of complaining to the manufacturers – even if I had made them properly and not turned them into greenpoohcakes they still tasted utterly foul.
