If you like Gilbert and George you can dance with them here to one of your favourite tracks:

‘Bend It’ Dozy Beaky Micky Thingy and Titch‘The Israelites’ Desmond Dekker
‘Green Onions’ Booker T and The MG’s
‘The Robots’ Kraftwerk
‘Just The two of Us’ Bill Withers (I think)

I chose The Israelites – and enjoyed it immensely. It’s really worth checking out. You can also download exclusive artwork but only until tonight! So be quick my little bloggarooniecutiepies! xx

Bugger, I hope they leave it up there beyond midnight. Did you see the pair of them on Jonathon Ross? Splendid chaps, always very smartly turned out and never a stain in sight.<br/>The "here" link needs to be sorted (one too many http://'s).<br/><br/>It’s a bit late to be asking for a diary on your 3rd birthday, isn’t it? x

Ister – I’ve bookmarked it so I should be able to send you a link no? I like them alot – extremely underestimated sense of humour and their early work was amazing. They have created beautiful big life drawings and installations. Great, striking photography in the 60’s and 70’s. I think they are brilliant. I’ve sorted the link out by the way. Thanks for that. Diary?! I might have to resort to a deathstare! 8-I<br/><br/>Billster – which one did you dance to Bill?

Savannah – oh dear that’s a shame – try youtube. I tried to copy/download and it wouldn’t let me.<br/><br/>Glad you enjoyed the Tate.

    Green Onions. Wot a classic.

Bill – I might do a bit of Kraftwerk later. I enjoyed The Israelites immensely (I think I spelled that wrong).

Out of all of them I think the song by Dave Dee Dozy Beaky Mick and Tich works best, shortly followed by the Booker T &amp; the MGs.<br/>All songs go quite well with the VT.<br/>Some of Gilbert &amp; George’s stained glass stuff is fantastic – and it puts the likes Peter Max (and most of his crap)to shame.

Ister – did you see the exhibition? It was AMAZING. Pre-stained glass stuff and use of colour was incredible. Then they did these great street signs in tag grafitti and islamic script style – probably highly offensive to some but actually the whole exhibition just looked like an comprehensive historical artistic social document of a very small area of the East End from 1960 to present. they rock in my humble opinion and have always been very ahead of their time.

pardon the previously shit grammar – didn’t cut and paste properly and in a hurry x

Didn’t get to see it unfortunately – just my luck that the show at the Tate finished a few days ago.<br/><br/>(I also missed Kevin Ayers, Captain S and Robyn Hitchcock singing Syd Barrett’s songs at the Barbican last night).<br/><br/>I’m sure G &amp; G will exhibit again in the near future, they’re a lot more acceptable now than they were some years ago.

Oh I know – I saw that and meant to maybe try and go but didn’t realise it was so soon! I think G&amp;G have always been acceptable it’s just that they got extra press for one small part of their career – the poo/spunk/piss christ installations.

  14. Good stuff rockmum. You’ve been busy. I’m back…easy on the accolades.

most invigorating! i chose ‘bend it’ (dave dee, dozy, beaky, mick’n’titch). but do you know, until this very evening i thought they were singing ‘take it easy, show you’re <i>lacking</i> it’ and i’ve only just deduced it must be <i>liking</i><br/>duh<br/>(rather like ‘me ears are alight’ – wonder if they’ve chosen songs with commonly misinterpreted words? wouldn’t put it past them, the little scamps)<br/>thanks for the link!
